In Reaper, you can also load plug-ins (ARA and non-ARA) directly onto regions (Take). Furthermore, an ARA plug-in will always be automatically placed at the start of the processing chain (unless another ARA plug-in is already present, in which case this is not supported by the ARA specifications).
It seems to me that it’s possible to retrieve the plug-in’s classic parameters, but this may be a little more complicated depending on the roles - playback renderer, editor renderer, editor view - of the plug-in instance (I don’t use the plug-in’s classic parameters in my ARA plug-ins so I never tried). It’s possible that the information won’t be transmitted to the instance you want. But it seems to me that this can be handled in the same way as passing information from the playhead to the various instances. This has been discussed in other threads.
