For loop question

#1

In the juce code I see a lot of this:

int i;
for(i = 0; i < limit; i++ ) {}

instead of this:
for(int i = 0; i < limit; i++ ) {}

Why?

#2

From the wiki, could be this

I can’t say I’ve seen it too often though

#3

Yeah, it’s a throwback for older compilers like VC6. I think we’re starting to reach the point where I don’t need to worry about compatibility with those any more though, so I may begin to avoid it in newer code.

Interesting…thanks.
