Fullscreen as default on multiple monitors

#1

Please forgive my noobness but I’ve hit a brick wall trying to work out how to do this. I’ve got a very simple VST plugin but I want to make it open in fullscreen on all monitors as the default setting. Is there an easy/obvious way to do this?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Not surprised you hit a brick wall - it’s not possible. The host is in charge of the window that your plugin lives inside. You can change its size a bit, but you can’t (and definitely shouldn’t try to) make it full-screen!

Aha, well that’s good to know at least. In that case, is there a way to dynamically size the plugin according to the size of the host window, rather than just using the setSize method to some fixed dimensions?

No… What do you even mean by the “host window”? All hosts will be very different, maybe they don’t even have a window, or maybe they have many windows. Just make your plugin editor the correct size for its content, and don’t make any assumptions about the context in which it’s running!

OK, thanks!
