getCurrentAudioDevice() for input/output


Since you are supporting using different input/output devices … wouldn’t it make sense to have getCurrentInputDevice() and getCurrentOutputDevice() ?

I have a mixer object with nodes for all inputs/output … but since I use this method to determine number of inputs/outputs … it can fail if the input device has more nodes than the output device (since getNumberInputChannels in the audio callback reports a different number).

Is there some way to determine the total number of inputs/outputs on either of the input/output devices? I know I get the correct max number in the callback … but I would like to be able to figure it out on initialization of the device(s).


No… there’s only one i/o device object, that contains all the ins + outs.

You can get the number of channels with getActiveOutputChannels() and getActiveInputChannels()
