How to make a non-rectangular plugin

#1

Hi,

I can’t see if this could be done or not: I’d like to use a PNG as background for the plugin in which only a certain part (say, a circle) is non-transparent, the rest of the image rectangle is therefore transparent. However, this transparent area is filled by the host (or whatever draws the plugin window). Any idea what to do here?

Thanks!

Sorry, forget it! The host provides the window, and it’s always opaque.

That’s a shame… would be cool. Well, can’t help it, I guess. Thanks!

You could of course open your own window as well as the plugin window, if you really wanted to…

Just been trying that, actually. Doesn’t work yet, but I’ll pursue it further…
