Ok, while doing a minimal example it turns out, that the readNextMessageInt actually blocks, but still, one single instance of a master and a slave eats 10% CPU, vs. without it goes down to 2%.
I use it as a mixer plugin, so one mixing algorithm controls 20 slave plugins in each mix channel…
Had to cloak the zip as .mm - hope you can find something usefull…
