Is it possible for a plugin to receive midi information even if the plugin is not on the current track?

Basically what the title says.

If I have a plugin on track 1 that receives midi information, but the user is currently on track 2, is there anyway for the plugin on track 1 to still receive midi information ?

(Also, I’m sure there’s some way with DAW routing, but I’m looking for a way to do it without routing)

These setups heavily rely on the DAW in question, but, you can pipe MIDI across to the other plugin internally if both plugins are yours, this is the hackiest of hacks though.
