JUCE 8 Nightmare: Windows performance dramatically reduced!

We’ve pushed some significant updates to the Direct2D backend that should improve performance when working with Images. This change will improve performance for projects that use setBufferedToImage, and effects like shadows and glows.

It sounds like the performance issues described in the original post of this thread may have been caused in large part by rendering drop shadows. I expect the newest changes to improve performance in this area.
