JUCE ARA Plug-ins in Digital Performer

Has anybody successfully built a JUCE ARA plug-ins that works with Digital Performer? Our original Acoustica ARA plug-in built with Celemony’s JUCE-ARA fork worked in Digital Performer, but the plug-in fails to load since switching to the official JUCE ARA implementation. The ARA Plugin Demo project doesn’t seem to work properly either, and it causes Digital Performer to crash instantly.

Best,
Stian

Please could you let us know:

  • Which Digital Performer versions have you tested?
  • On which platforms?
  • Do you see the same results in all cases?

Thanks for the reply! I built and tested the ARA Plugin Demo with JUCE 7.0.12 on an Intel Mac running Digital Performer 11.22.93087. I can try to build and test with JUCE 8 as well, if you’d like. Our own ARA plug-in has the same issue on both Mac and Windows, but I haven’t tested the ARA Plugin Demo on Windows yet.

MOTU are aware of possible issue if some caching changed. So far they’re aware of it happening during development. so:

  1. If your released product is affected from this. Contact MOTU.
  2. A workaround is deleting your DP cache:
Win: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\MOTU\MOTU Audio System\VST3 Info Cache v2
Mac: /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Com.motu.MotuAudioSystem/VST3 Info Cache v2

Following that, I’m able to “revive” a demo plugin.

Thanks for the tip, I’ll try that!
