We are a Germany-based company seeking an experienced Audio Plug-in Developer (Fully Remote) to support our existing plug-in project on a freelance, project-based basis.
You should have solid expertise with JUCE, Stripe, FastSpring, Supabase, and Vercel.
The project involves further development of an ARA-2 speech synthesis plug-in powered by an external model. This includes maintaining both frontend and backend systems — user/subscription management, payment integrations, and the associated databases.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the audio plug-in using the JUCE framework.

Implement support for major plugin formats, including ARA-2, AAX, VST3, AU, according to project needs.

Ensure cross-platform compatibility for Windows and macOS, resolving platform-specific challenges as required.

Collaborate with our audio engineers to integrate new features, troubleshoot issues, and refine designs.

Optimize code for performance, low-latency audio processing, and overall stability.
Requirements

Proven experience in audio software development and plug-in creation.

Proficiency in JUCE and a strong understanding of ARA-2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats.

Experience in cross-platform development for Windows and macOS, including familiarity with relevant APIs and tools.

Knowledge of Stripe, FastSpring, Supabase, and Vercel for backend and subscription management.

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working within a small, distributed team.

Self-motivated and comfortable managing tasks independently in a remote setting.

A degree in Computer Science, Audio Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
