i decided to go with VS2017 (still using 2015).
Given that the new installer seems to install a lot of things and my HD space is not so much, wich part of VS2017 are essential for JUCE?

You can run that VS installer after you install the base anyway if you missed something. I think you don’t need much at all to build JUCE. Maybe just the Windows SDK and C++ stuff.
