Read Only

Hi Jules,
I need to dynamically create data for all users on a system, and using File::getSpecialLocation with the commonApplicationDataDirectory argument would supposedly work, BUT there is one little detail in the docs that seem odd: “…Depending on the setup, this folder may be read-only…” When would the common user data directory be read only?

…I mean… I suppose usually the root of common data folder is, but after I created a few directories as an admin with the install program I can set the permissions how I please, and it would never be bother with right?

It’s just a warning, because the level of security will depend entirely on how the system is set up. But yes, if you’ve definitely created a writable folder with your installer, then I guess you’d be fine.
