Realtime audio in 2019: Mac OSX vs Windows 10

Hi,

This is not JUCE specific but I’m considering both OS as the target of some real-time JUCE music software and I wonder what are the challenges in each platform.

I read this: https://www.resplendence.com/latencymon, which leads me to think that only Mac OSX is truly prepared for real-time audio but it omits the analysis of the latter.

My questions are then:
Has Windows 10 improved in any sense to compete with Mac OSX in real-time audio or it is still unreliable?
Is actually Mac OSX good enough with this or you would need a custom embedded device to have a truly professional reliable latency?

If anybody has any thoughts to share, I’d love to read them.

Regards
