Windows Virtual MIDI devices / ports?

Hi!

I’ve been rooting around the forums posts, and so far as I can see it still isn’t possible for a Windows app (let alone a JUCE app on Windows!) to create it’s own Virtual MIDI devices / ports.

Does anybody know what the state-of-play is?!

Best wishes, Pete

These are the two I’m aware of. I’ve used BMIDI in production for 6+ years without issue.

Thanks for that @RolandMR !

So, it still requires creation of a MIDI device driver. What a pain!

Best wishes, Pete

I was really hoping this would make it into Live 11, along with multi-client support, but nay…

Virtual MIDI is supposedly coming to Windows eventually but Microsoft hasn’t provided an update about it since late 2020.

At least it will land before MIDI 2.0 support which seems years away.
