Looking forward with great anticipation to the Optogenetic Cochlear Implant which has been proven in the lab by Tobias Moser of the Univ. of Gotten. Germany. 100 channels of light optic based DSP to genetically treated spiral ganglion neurons.
Current Cochlear Implants use electricity and a few electrodes which laterally spread and cause very poor quality (like a warped Darth Vader on a bad trip).
