Yesterday’s release of Pro Tools 2026.11 added support for DPI scaling on Windows, but full support for plug-ins requires the use of AAX SDK 2.10.
They have added the ability to auto-scale plug-in windows, but all of our JUCE-based plug-ins are having a really hard time! Luckily the auto-scaling can be disabled for a plug-in window and a plug-in’s own in-built scaling options used to compensate, so we have a workaround for customers for now.
I’ve patched it in our local fork of JUCE using the following in the JuceAAX_GUI class:
#if AAX_SDK_2p10p0_REVISION
AAX_Result UpdateScalingFactor ([[maybe_unused]] IACFUnknown* inViewContainer, float inScalingFactor) override
{
if (component)
{
if (auto* peer = component->getPeer())
peer->setCustomPlatformScaleFactor (inScalingFactor);
return AAX_SUCCESS;
}
return AAX_ERROR_NULL_OBJECT;
}
#endif // AAX_SDK_2p10p0_REVISION
