Crash reporting with Sentry

We shortly tried using sentry some time ago, maybe something has changed since then, but these were our problems: The default crashpad backend of sentry does not allow for preprocessing of the error events, since its out of process (since the before_send hook can’t be called). Without filtering, you would just get spammed with errors not related to your plugin. Using breakpad instead, we had to disable sentry for a lot of hosts in order for the plugin to work at all. I stopped trying to make it work with Breakpad and switched to Crashpad instead, as using Breakpad seems to cause the plugin to crash in a DAW environment.

I don’t understand why I was able to get (unreadable) crash reports with Breakpad, but no crashes at all when using Crashpad.
It’s driving me crazy!

What do you mean by Xcode automatically reporting crashes? Can you use it to gather crash reports from your users?

Sorry for the delay in replying.

Xcode automatically reports crashes from both Apps and AUv3 that are distributed through the Apple Store; in the Organizer section.

No special work required!
