Crypt 2: Full-featured free open-source synth plugin with UI

Hey everyone! I just released the completely redone version of my hyper-unison synth plugin Crypt. It’s fully open source (GPL), and built with CMake, so I thought it could be a useful resource for those of you building plugins of your own to use as reference.

I’ve made a couple of plugins before, but this is by far the most ambitious and polished of all of them, especially in the UI.

If you’re a Linux user, I’d love to get some feedback on how it is to build and run on Linux - I’ve only tested it myself on Mac and Windows.

Github repo is at github.com/vitling/crypt , binaries at my website vitling.xyz

Nice! You should open a PR for this on GitHub - sudara/awesome-juce: A curated list of JUCE modules, templates, plugins, oh my!

With the help of @drmr-2 we got it working for Linux too!

@ImJimmi I opened a PR but unfortunately it seems to not be active right now; lots of PRs sitting open in the project.

We’re in the midst of creating the “JUCE Marketplace”, which will be a more prominent place to showcase open source examples like this.

You guys have a rough timeline for when the marketplace will be up?

We’re aiming to make it available before the end of the year.

The caveat here is that it has been “close” to being finished for ages, so I’ve lost some confidence in our ability to forecast the end of this project.

I love this concept, can’t wait to see it!
