About the role
We are seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic audio synthesis developer to create software synths powered by cutting edge machine learning algorithms. Current synth software can have a steep learning curve, but our ethos at Vochlea Music is to build accessible, intuitive experiences through ML and UX innovation. You will be working with a UX designer (with experience in music tech instrumentation) and audio machine learning expert to create something completely new.
You will join a team that includes two highly experienced C++ engineers, plus a C++ engineer with audio plugin programming and audio machine learning experience (Kaggle award winner in Google audio challenge). This means you will have access to mentorship and people who understand the challenges you may face.
We are primarily on the lookout for somebody with talent and excitement for this role. If you’ve ever made a JUCE plugin that uses any form of DSP, we definitely want to hear from you!
Required
Based in the UK
At least 1 years experience (industrial or freelance)
Confident working with C++ and git
JUCE framework knowledge
Strong understanding of DSP for Audio (e.g. IIR filters)
Good understanding of audio synthesis & sound design (e.g. Oscillators)
Bonus (not required!):
JUCE expert
Modern C++ expert (with industrial experience)
C++ performance optimisation (e.g. profiling, multithreading)
Sound design expert
Music theory
Music production experience
Machine learning with audio features
