I added UIBackgroundModes "audio" and UIApplicationExistsOnSuspend "false" to the app's plist
but when my app is suspended the audio is still turned off (I'm using the iphone 6 simulator).
Is there anything else I should do in order to get audio when my app is in background?
I don't think there's anything else you need to do. Did you remove the app from the simulator, clean and rebuild the project? Sometimes the plist isn't overwritten correctly.
If this still doesn't help, I think you'll need to debug Juce's AudioSession implementation and see what happens (take a look at juce_ios_Audio.cpp in the juce_audio_devices module).
thanks for your answer.
It did not help unfortunatly. but I've heard that the background audio in the simulator is not supported on xcode 4 (someone can confirm?).
so hopefully this is why!
Oh yes, I totally forgot about that!
I can confirm that background audio is not supported by the simulator.
