In short, does anybody know why I cannot get mouse events from components that belong to a container Component (a tabbed component)?

Hmmm, well, it seems that the ineffable Vinn 
had already given an answer. Just I needed the right keyword (setInterceptMouseClicks) to find it in this huge fount of wisdom!
