Hey! New here, I’d like to introduce myself by contributing a open source guitar amp. Its a high gain amplifier with a impulse response loader.
Check it out on github ![]()

This looks interesting. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks its a work in progress but been rewarding so far.
Wow! Looks great! I will try it to see how it sounds! Can u share something about modeling process? What has lead you to choose that particular wave shaper and why that values?
Its a modified quartic approximation of tanh, with 4x upsampling, it’s got a kind of warmth of an old tube. Although this project is quite a simple example all in all and is very much reliant on the impulse response loader. Ive got a new one in the works which is a bit more involved ![]()
Maybe I was reading about using a tube model referred to will pirkle addendum?
Anyway thank you! So distortion is a “soft” version of tanh with 4xoversampling. Any sound sample?
And then you have filters and ir loader. Filters are chosen on your taste? I mean, you tweaked your filters until you obtained, together with the IR, a tone similar to a 5150? So using a trial and error process.
Ahaha im really curious, I’m also interested in doing guitar amp plugins (and guitarist my self)
News?
Interesting. What’s the modification?
