The Math Behind Skew Sliders

Can anyone explain the math of how changing the skew of a slider changes the ratio? I’m trying to convert frequency values to pixeled positions to add some extra graphics on an EQ plugin, but am struggling to reverse engineer the positions due to the way the graph is skewed.

In general I’m just looking for more info on what adding a skew does to the calculations of slider positions from a mathematical perspective?

Thanks!

If x is between 0 and 1, then it does pow(x, 1/skew) where skew is also between 0 and 1.

However, do pay attention to the forum post mentioned in that article. A skew slider is NOT a true logarithmic scale. For the freq value, I would suggest a true log scale slider instead.
