Using Microsoft GS/SW Synth inside a DAW

Hi.

In some DAWs I can’t open the device using MidiOutput::openDevice() (guess it’s already open)

Is the reason for this is that some DAWs open the device and some don’t?
Is there a way to get a handle of the device is some way even if openDevice() fails?
