Can't get git and Xcode to cooperate

Hi, I’m new to JUCE and this may be a silly question but I haven’t been able to find an answer. I create a new audio application in the Projucer and open it in Xcode, then go to ‘Source Control > Create git repositories’. In the dialog I check the box next to the project and click create, at this point the dialog just freezes indefinitely and never creates the repo. Manually creating a repo in the project folder in terminal does create a .git folder, but Xcode gives me no indication that the project is under source control and the little ‘M’ next to edited source files does not appear. Has anyone else dealt with this/have any ideas what I did wrong?

Use a different app, like Fork or SourceTree. They’re free to use/try. Or set it up via Terminal, after you create a .gitignore file.

git init
git add .
git commit -m "initial commit"

Oh thank you, I’ll try that now- if I set it up via Terminal will I still be able to commit/checkout branches from within Xcode?

Yes. All of those apps just operate on the .git repo, including using Terminal.
