According to http://www.rawmaterialsoftware.com/jucedocumentation.php, Sourceforge zip file contains API documentation but it doesn’t seem to be there.

Hmmm, not sure how it bloats the repository, assuming that the repository just stores deltas but in any case, thanks for the lik.
The docs are stored in a huge zip-file, so the GIT can’t generate deltas for it very efficiently. Even small changes to it would add megabytes to the repository size.
But the file is there on sourceforge, in the “1.52/prebuilt binaries” folder.
