Hello! I’m Marley, founder of StarSync Studio. We’re building what we describe as the Google Docs / Canva for music producers: real-time collaboration workflows for music creation that make it easy to co-create, iterate, and share sessions without the usual friction.

We’re looking for a JUCE plugin developer to help us build VST3/AU plugins that fit into the StarSync ecosystem and push the product forward.

  • We have a working prototype, and we’ve personally dumped a lot of money into building it so far.

  • We’ve won pitch competitions, and we’re currently participating in Silicon Valley accelerator programs.

  • We’re a younger startup team, but we take execution seriously, and we’re building fast.

The role

You’d be building and shipping (or prototyping quickly):

  • JUCE-based plugins (VST3/AU) aligned with our roadmap and demo goals

  • Plugin concepts that are genuinely useful to producers (not just “tech demos”)

  • Bonus points if you can help with polish, UX, and release readiness

You would work under our CTO (you won’t be alone/unmanaged), and we coordinate through Discord + Zoom.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong JUCE comfort (or a clear track record with audio software)

  • Musician/producer mindset — someone who understands workflows and pain points

  • Comfortable with calls and async updates (Discord)

  • Nice-to-have: DSP fundamentals, plugin UI/UX, cross-platform build/release

Compensation

Right now this is an equity-only offer.
There’s a real possibility of compensation once our next funding round closes, but I want to be transparent: cash isn’t available today.

We’ll keep everything clean and standard (vesting, written scope, IP assignment) so everyone is protected.
