Hiring Freelance JUCE Developer – AI Drum & Bass Editor Plugin (Paid)

Hi JUCE Community,

I’m hiring a freelance JUCE developer to build a new plugin called AutoGroove – a VST3/AU tool designed to help music producers automate the tedious editing of drums and bass (quantization, phase correction, groove alignment).

This is a paid, milestone-based freelance job with a clear budget and defined scope. Looking for someone with solid DSP experience who can execute efficiently and communicate clearly.

:white_check_mark: Project Scope (MVP)

You’ll build a cross-platform plugin (Mac first, then Windows if possible) with the following features:

  • Auto-quantization of audio (preserve groove, not hard quantize)
  • Groove locking: align bass transients to kick hits
  • Phase alignment: for multi-mic drum tracks (cross-correlation based)
  • Simple GUI with toggles/sliders for user control

No MIDI sequencing or synthesis required. This is strictly audio input → audio output.

:brain: Ideal Experience

  • Strong JUCE knowledge (VST3/AU plugin development)
  • Comfortable with DSP concepts: transient detection, timing, phase
  • Bonus if familiar with: aubio, Essentia, or groove analysis
  • Able to deliver clean code and communicate clearly

:money_bag: Budget & Timeline

  • Budget: $5,000–$6,500 AUD total (~$3,300–$4,300 USD)
  • Timeline: ~6–8 weeks
  • Milestone-based payments
  • Optional follow-up work (GUI polish, DAW expansion, licensing, etc.)

:outbox_tray: How to Apply

Please reply here or DM me with:

  • A short intro
  • Examples of JUCE plugins or DSP work you’ve done (GitHub, links, screenshots)
  • Availability and preferred hourly or fixed rate (if outside this budget)

Looking forward to working with someone who loves building creative tools for musicians. If you’re confident in your ability to execute, I’d love to hear from you.
