I didn’t go straight to JUCE jobs with this because I’m not sure its really worthy of that category. I’m just tired of getting stuck on stupid little things that require me to make changes across 3 or more files or would be solved by something I’m not aware. Like right now, for example, I just need to use the shared hover/drag value-display overlay and modal window editor (I couldn’t get it to accept keystrokes any other way), which I built for the main panel originally, for my other panel’s knob’s. Its not hard. I’ve actually gotten all the way thought it once already, but then I went back to the backup and started over without saving that version because I was so frustrated because I couldn’t figure out why hitting enter after editing was crashing the DAW. More frustrating still was the fact that I’d asked AI to find the cause of the bug and never got an answer and then it reloaded when I went to ask it dumb questions for fun later on and it returned an answer that I somehow had it coded to close the editor twice, which caused the crash, but I no longer have that version so now I can’t even fix that issue and I can no longer figure out how I was able to do it in the first place.
If I had a buddy who, unlike me, was actually good at coding, I could rely on him in times like this. Or even someone I can throw like $20 to every time I’m stuck on something stupid like this to fix me. I know it would likely be cheaper just to pay someone else to do the whole thing, but paying them like that would allow me to still build my experience so that I don’t continue to be such a novice.
Maybe my whole logic is messed up. I’m probably just socially deprived from spending several months coding the same plugin for 18 to 20hrs/day everyday alone in the Dolby Atmos room at a recording studio where I stopped accepting work because this damned thing consumes every moment of my life. If you see me on the news, you’ll know why I snapped lol.
