Is getContainerForSecurityApplicationGroupIdentifier() read-only from within GarageBand on iOS? (Please ignore / delete)

Or am I missing something?

I’m vaguely aware that GB is heavily sandboxed, but it seems while I can read files from this location I can’t write files there. Standalone, and other hosts (AUM for example) seem to work fine.

Sorry for lack of specific errors / detail as I’ve had Xcode 27 “forced” on me due to a new machine, and the debug AU “start with” doesn’t seem to work anymore with my test iPad that’s still (for good reason…) on iOS 26. Sigh…

Anyone managed to work out if it’s possible to write files to the shared app group folder from within GB?

Thanks. -Rob

Seems this is related to a totally separate GB-specific issue. Apologies.

Please feel free to delete / ignore this topic.

In case anyone was interested, looks like GB was stalling my background thread that did the actually write operations so it wasn’t even running. Adding some light optimisation to the debug build seemed to persuade GB to actually allow my background stuff to run. Apparently GB is notoriously aggressive with this.
