NonGui Juce

#1

I’m using Juce for some audio classes but not using its GUI. What is the pattern for this?

Currently I’m calling initialiseJuce_NonGUI(), however I get a crash in AudioDeviceManager if I don’t call MessageManager::getInstance() first.

Thanks!

The audio classes need a bunch of stuff from the gui side, so if you want to use audio you’d have to build a gui app. (You don’t actually have to create any windows of course)

Alright, so I’ll call initialiseJuce_GUI(). What else do I need to do at a minimum in order to use audio related classes. Do I have to create a JuceApplication?

You’d probably need to run a message thread. I’d really recommend just doing it as a normal GUI app, and not trying to write your own main().
