Stand-alone cross-platform VST player with JUCE-on-Linux?

#1

Hello all,

I’m building a stand-alone VST player in the spirit of the Muse Receptor (only cheaper) using a small-format motherboard and (currently) Ubuntu Linux.

Has anyone used JUCE to make a cross-platform VST player that’ll play Windows VSTs on Linux?

I know it’s easily done using WINE and FST (and relatives), but these solutions all seem both complicated (several APIs that need to be coordinated) and unstable. JUCE seems like the ideal solution if we could use the Windows dynamic loader code under Linux.

…any comments appreciated…
