Does anybody have any advice on instructions to give to a user to view the version number of a vst3 plugin on windows? Not all DAWs have a feature like the Cubase plugin manager to show the version number.
We put it in a drop-down menu on our plugins now. But one way on Windows would be to change the extension to .dll, then look at the Properties of the file, then change it back to .vst3. Windows knows how to get the version number of a .dll, but it just doesn’t know that a .vst3 plugin IS a .dll, just with a different extension.
