C++ Software Developer at Akai Professional (inMusic Brands).

Location/Term :

UK, Cambridge office preferred. Full-time/Permanent.

About the role:

Akai Professional are looking for a passionate C++ developer to join our team and get involved with developing industry-leading audio products, including the iconic MPC and more recently the Akai Force.

We’re currently working on some seriously exciting projects across Mac, Windows and embedded Linux, using JUCE and modern C++. Our hardware will offer you a chance to sink your teeth into something a little different and go beyond building your average desktop apps.

You’ll be coming to work in an agile team with a passion for clean, maintainable code. We review each others code, love our unit tests and are constantly push Git and Jenkins to do more of our CI and dirty work. Day to day you’ll be working on new features for our products, fixing bugs and generally making the audio world a cooler place one line of code at a time.

You will have the chance to constantly improve your C++ chops along with your knowledge of Continuous Integration, Audio, JUCE and Hardware Integration to name but a few. We hold regular internal tech talks to build on our skills and have some great company events, benefits and socials.

So, what we’re looking for:

A C++ developer with ideally 2+ years development experience on Mac and Windows. Bonus points for Linux.

Experience with modern C++ (11,14,17) and the STL/Boost.

JUCE experience.

Some experience and appreciation of TDD/unit-tests

Understanding of object-oriented design and familiarity with SOLID principles.

Basic understanding of MultiThreading and the pitfalls of real-time audio software.

Nice to haves:

Background in (and passion for) music/audio, with live, studio or DJ experience

Experience with CMake and other build systems

Scripting experience Bash, Python, Lua etc.

Embedded Linux foo

Industry experience of audio app development

CI experience, Jenkins etc.

Salary:

Competitive, dependent on skills and experience.
