Audio Format Roadmap?

Any plans for supporting more audio formats?

I know that iTunes and VLC support ALAC and AAC, with the former being open-source (http://alac.macosforge.org/trac/browser/trunk).

Also useful would be supporting decoding and encoding WAV that's compressed. The µ-Law, A-Law and ADPCM algorithms are standard and prevalent in broadcast settings.

Haven't got any specific plans right now, but would like to wrap ffmpeg one day if we have the patience!

You can of course already read most of these formats on OSX or Windows if you use the native codec wrappers.
