Hi there, I’m trying to find the legacy VST2 SDK files, but I can’t seem to find them anywhere. First, in both vstsdk3610_11_06_2018_build_37 and JUCE 5.3.2, there doesn’t seem to have any vst2.x folder containing the aeffect.h and aeffectx.h files. I tried to build the SDK by hand, but there was no Install project generated by CMake. I’m usually used to do this kind of stuff, but now I don’t get it. Am I missing something? Is there anyone who has clear instructions on how to get these files right now? Thanks.
Yes, you missed this: https://forum.juce.com/t/steinberg-closing-down-vst2-for-good/
And this as well: The removal of JUCE’s embedded VST2 SDK
None of these threads are still proposing valid ways of obtaining the VST2 SDK. Here is a link that is working for those who need it (web archive): https://web.archive.org/web/20181016150224/https://download.steinberg.net/sdk_downloads/vstsdk3610_11_06_2018_build_37.zip
That’s because there is no valid way anymore. All the archives don’t provide a licensed SDK (and Steinberg will probably remove them).
You are my hero!
