I’m creating a plugin that need to output all kind of formats, including surround sound. I have no experience with surround sound. I do not know how this is handled by a DAW.
Should I just output multiple channels? Like 7 (or 8?) channels for a 7.1 system? And if so, how are the channels mapped to the different speakers? Is that for all DAWs the same?
