Links in threads to links within the old thread are now broken… For example there was a link in a thread A to a post in thread B – the link in thread A is dead.
For an example see: AudioGraphIOProcessor with the new bus system

It seems if the web guys just add a redirect from
http://www.juce.com/forum/topic/
to
They can make existing (old) links (even from Google) work.

Hey,
A quick update on the link situation.
We’ve just deployed two sets of changes which should make things easier.
Forum topics in the form /forum/topic/* will now redirect to https://forum.juce.com/t/*.
An additional layer of remapping has also been added. For example, /forum/topic/ultimate-juce-41-multibus-guide needed to map to https://forum.juce.com/t/the-ultimate-juce-4-1-multibus-guide rather than https://forum.juce.com/t/ultimate-juce-41-multibus-guide, which 404s. With the second part of the new redirect system in place, the 9963/17147 forum threads with changed topic slugs will also resolve correctly.
Best,
Oscar
Can you make external links _blank instead of _self ?
Thanks,
Rail
Hey Rail,
This is a per-user preference in Discourse. You should be able to change the setting in your account preferences. Details here:
Newly created user accounts have this setting by default. However, changing existing user accounts retroactively is not something I’m able to do at this time.
Best,
Oscar
Perfect – Sorry I missed that.
Cheers,
Rail
Thanks for another useful report!
The rawmaterialsoftware.com threads involved are all in excess of two years old and a lot of the information they contain is no longer current.
Having weighed up the issue, we don’t feel that building another redirect system specifically to cater to outdated internal links in the forum is worth the time.
There are cases in the forum where threads links to other threads like here: PopupMenu steals keyboard input in AU plugins - #7 by friscokid
but the link is in the old broken form of http://www.rawmaterialsoftware.com/juceforum/viewtopic.php?p=24594. Is there a way to find old post no. 24594 in the current forum?
