Please Explain Audio parameter voodoo

I’m still quite new to this whole audio programming world.

In the tutorial Adding plug-in parameters, I see not a single mention of a Slider object, yet it appears on the GUI!

What manner of witchcraft is this?

How would I control the properties of the slider that magically appears if I don’t have a reference to it in the class?

The tutorial uses the GenericAudioProcessorEditor which generates a very simple GUI based on the plugin parameters. You can not really customize how that looks and behaves in any clean way.
