UWE Bristol, Frenchay Campus, UK
More info: http://www.uwe.ac.uk/bit/mt.

Throughout the day a range of speakers will present their work - both technical and creative - with a view to raising some important questions. Towards the end of the day there will be an opportunity to discuss any ideas raised with the day’s speakers. In addition to these activities there will be opportunities, at various points during the day, to experience and interact with some of the software, systems and creative work presented.

The themes of “efficiency” and “expression” will be explored by the speakers through a range of topics:

_ live audiovisual feedback
_ audiovisual concatenative synthesis
_ computer representations of music
_ computer music languages and libraries
_ expressive and efficient user interface design
_ the relationship between the “instrument” and technology
_ optimising DSP code for expressive ends

Just a reminder of this event tomorrow.

I’ll be demonstrating a Juce-savvy audio synthesis/processing framework/library (which also works on the iPhone and could easily run on other platforms). It’s a bit like CSL.

There will also be a demo of one of our MSc students’ Juce-based work.
