How to debug VST plugin in XCode

Hi all,

How can I debug a VST plugin in a XCode environment? I have tried to change .component extension to .vst, I've tried to change plugin location,  I've tried several hosts (Tracktion, PLugin Host example....) but I did not managed to 'hook'  the attached host process to the debugged plugin in Xcode.

What am I missing? Anybody has some procedure at hand?
