Rational Acoustics LLC is seeking an experienced and creative C++ programmer to take on the position of Principal Software Engineer for Smaart, our industry-standard, pro-audio acoustical measurement platform. This position requires a software engineer who is extremely capable with object-oriented programming, excels at creative and adaptive problem solving, is confident working directly with product management and world-wide test/support personnel, and is comfortable with the continual learning required for work in an industry with constantly evolving technologies, applications and practices. This is a full-on, full-time highly collaborative position that requires an active presence in our Putnam, CT, USA offices. We're looking for a local candidate, but for the right person with the right skills tele-commuting may be possible.
Skills:
Applicant should be comfortable with parachuting into an existing, mature and well-documented code base to maintain and expand its capabilities for operation on the MAC OS and Windows platforms. Skills/expertise required include:
-Strong C++ coding versatility
-Modern object-oriented programming architecture /practices
-Client-Server Models
-Design and Concurrency Patterns, GRASP, STL, Inter-process communication
-Cross-platform (Windows & OS X) development
-DSP, Audio, Real Time Processing
-Math
Intellectual curiosity is a big plus. While we don’t expect you to know everything, we do expect that you will be able, interested and motivated to learn what you need to know quickly.
Education / Experience:
- BS degree in a relevant Computer Science or Engineering discipline (or equivalent)
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
