Recommended OS/Distro IDE

Hi I'm new to JUCE but not to coding...

 

I have the option of running Windows 10 or any linux distro, and I'm comfortable with Eclipse CDT. I like to use GIT for repository management. However, I'm flexible and open to other suggestions.

 

Ultimately, I aim to be using JUCE for writng DLL and VST plugins. What would be the recomended set-up for these types of project?

is there also a recommended bolier-plate/helloworld setup?

If you're not familiar with it already, take a look at the Projucer: it handles things like IDE projects for you. That way, you can use more than one environment :)
