VST Developer Partnership

Don’t forget I’m only getting 50%, so that’s only 10-15k per quarter.

Agree with all the criticism here, literally everyone has their own ideas and passion projects they work on in their spare time, why would they want to work on someone else’s without any guarantee of actually getting paid, unless they’re super passionate about the project?
Also wanted to add that this is so incredibly depressing:

I have all the data which plugin categories are best and most searched by people. We would focus just on these.

Because I have site for that that has build nice authority in the search about plugins over time, it all comes down whether guy wants to build something from scratch or go with site that just have something established already

said site has some pretty glaring issues as well:

You’ve used the word “authority” to describe your site many times, and I’m really not convinced the site’s stats or content quality support that.

Form? it’s the today issue will be fixed asap yep thank you

site stats - because there is only that much people that are searching for these things

content quality - yeah it’s not perfect, but people kinda read it and if there isn’t this reddit/quora BS that google came up recently we would just be at the top

oh, well if people kinda read it, now I’ll definitely make you all the plugins you want completely for free!!

kinda read it was meant pretty well my man but I don’t need to argue with you really on this  I see my stats, peace

because people don’t read blogs these days - there are heaps of youtube channels, instagram pages, tiktok accounts, etc. with millions of followers looking for reviews and recommendations. Hense why I recommend sending some of said people a few nice emails to cash in on that

it looks like your youtube channel has around 700 subscribers, vs the 200k subscribers that the people reviewing my products have…

And the blogs people do read seriously aren’t the ones that give 5 star puff piece reviews to every plugin they post about.

I think this is my new drug… back and forth with high-paid devs  anyway, thanks guys I learned a lot! I know it’s not that easy, I just have this burning vision in myself… when it works with my writers that we go 50/50 then I though it would work here as well! I still think there would be guy that don’t want to mess up with the sales and managing the site and just focus on making plugins

if not, I will consider selling the site and just start new one from scratch purely as a plugin brand, and make a blog at the top of that as a bonus

There was actually 4 stars for features! (Cramit) :upside_down_face:

no I meant the search on google (serp), for sure there are other ways! but did you hear that? first 1K subs are the hardest!

How can anyone possibly go into business with you when, just like that, all of a sudden you’re considering selling the site that hours ago we were supposed to build together for a long time? And frankly, you posting your stream of consciousness thoughts about the future of your business on a public forum doesn’t exactly give me confidence in your judgement as a businessman.

Sure but even if your page got 100% of the traffic from Google for searches related to plugins, that’s still only a fraction of the traffic on those other platforms :person_shrugging:

The kinds of plugins you’re offering are exactly the kind people on those platforms would be looking for (i.e., free - I wouldn’t say the average tiktok user is minted), so why not push to get more attention to your products on those platforms to drive traffic to your site?

I think this thread may have digressed a little so to prevent it from digressing any further I’m going to close it now. @slx19 I hope you got all the feedback you needed, I’m sure if anyone is interested in any more of the details they can contact you personally. In future if you are looking for developers the JUCE Jobs category would normally be the best place to go. Best of luck.
