VST with more than 2 audio inputs or even variable number of inputs?

Dumb question: is it possible to build a VST in JUCE with more than 2 audio inputs?

Is it possible to have a variable number of audio inputs, changing based upon a selected setting?

It wouldn’t have to be a VST specifically; it could be any audio plug-in (.dll).
